Terms of use
The ground rules for using Menzync.
Draft terms for a proposal-stage research build, not yet reviewed by a lawyer.
1. What Menzync is
Menzync is a general-wellbeing reflection tool for adult university students. It estimates emotional signals that are expressed in text, voice or facial expression, and asks you to confirm or correct them. It does not know how you feel.
2. What Menzync is not
Menzync is not a medical device and does not provide diagnosis, treatment, therapy or crisis support. Nobody monitors your check-ins. If you are in danger, contact local emergency services or go to the nearest hospital. See Get support.
3. Eligibility
You must be 18 or older to create an account.
4. Your account
Keep your password private. You are responsible for activity on your account. You can delete it at any time from Account settings.
5. Acceptable use
- Use Menzync only for yourself. Do not analyse other people’s text, voice or face.
- Do not attempt to access other users’ data, disrupt the service, or probe it for vulnerabilities without written permission.
- Do not use Menzync’s output to make decisions about another person, such as in grading, hiring or discipline.
6. Readings are estimates
Readings can be wrong, especially for language, accents, lighting and contexts the engines were not trained on. Menzync shows which engine produced each reading and does not display confidence numbers it cannot justify. Your own answer always takes precedence.
7. Availability
This is a research build. Features may change, and engines may be unavailable; when they are, Menzync says so rather than guessing.
8. Privacy
How data is handled is described in the Privacy policy.
9. Changes
If these terms change, the version number above changes and you will be asked to review the update before continuing.
